New TurboCAD Tip – #34 TurboCAD Alternative Rendering
It is the first new tip in a long time and is now in video format. There are three parts.
Part 1 is an introduction – 11:18 minutes long
Part 2 looks at TurboCAD STP export and KeyShot Import – 28:17 minutes long
Part 3 looks at TurboCAD 3dm export and KeyShot Import and brings it all together in a final KeyShot rendering – 37:03 minutes long
The final render is fairly simple, but it was chosen to work in a time frame that was more consistent with a tip rather than a tutorial.
If you have any interest at all in alternative rendering in is worth a watch. Bring popcorn and take the 76:38 minute tour.

This hand crank grinder is based on a restoration video I had seen on YouTube. I thought it was quite a beauty and had lots of interesting parts including helical gears. I thought it would also make for a great TurboCAD tutorial so I went ahead and produced that.

Within the tutorial the viewer will be led through each keystroke to produce all the hand crank grinder components illustrated on the tutorial cover, with the exception of a few standardized parts that are downloaded from vendors. The viewer will learn how to apply materials along with the creation of a cutaway view. The viewer will also learn how to insert standard lighting, how to utilize render scene luminance and how to establish a render scene environment. Lastly, the viewer will learn how to render their model and save it in a high resolution image format.
